Super Bowl XLVIII Commercial Recap

Super Bowl XLVIII may have been less than exhilarating entertainment when the play clock was running, but thank goodness for those commercial breaks. Budweiser and Bud Light did not disappoint with the following commercials featuring Clydesdales, puppies, an American Hero, Don Cheadle, tiny tennis and... a llama?!

The Best New Beers of 2013 | Firstwefeast.com

There were approximately 2,500 breweries operating in the United States in 2013, so we can assume there were plenty of new beer releases to be considered for this list. A crew from firstwefeast.com picked their favorites and some of them happen to be our favorites too! Kudos to New Belgium Brewing's Accumulation White IPA, Victory Brewing's Dirt Wolf, and Goose Island Beer Co.'s Gillian and Bourbon County Barleywine for making the cut. Read the full article here and see if your favorite new beer from 2013 did too.

Abita Grapefruit I.P.A. to join the Abita Harvest Brews in December

*NEW WINTER SEASONAL*

“Grapefruit and hops pair well together,” said David Blossman. “In fact, many hops have grapefruit characteristics. That’s what makes Abita Grapefruit Harvest I.P.A. a natural choice.” The new brew will make its debut as a part of the Abita Harvest line of brews in December. All Abita Harvest brews are made with ingredients grown in Louisiana and harvested at the height of the season to capture the most flavor for these unique brews. Abita Harvest brews are available for a limited time and in limited quantities. Abita Grapefruit Harvest I.P.A. is a brilliant golden brew with a subtle zest of grapefruit flavor and aroma that enhances the strong hop character. The bright, snappy brew is made with real Louisiana Ruby-Red grapefruit, pale, pilsner, wheat and caramel malts and cascade hops.

Goose Island Ten Hills Pale Ale

*WINTER SEASONAL*

Ten Hills traces its story to Elk Mountain Farms in Idaho, famous for growing hops of exceptional quality and character. With hops from the "first ten hills" grown for Goose Island at Elk Mountain, we crafted a pale ale that delivers both a herbal and citrus hop character. We hope you'll find the intriguing balance of flavors in this beer to be truly unparalleled.  Cheers! ABV 6.2% | IBU 48

Tröegs Dead Reckoning

*WINTER SEASONAL*

ABV: 5.8% | IBUs: 53 | Yeast: Ale
Malts: Pilsner, Caramel, Roast, Black
Hops: Vanguard, Chinook
In the 14th century, sailors would rely on sheer skill to get from a starting point to a final destination. they called this Dead Reckoning. We see our beer the same way. We know where to begin and know where to go, but there are hundreds of ways to get there. Unfiltered and aggressively hopped for the style, Dead Reckoning's flavor originates in the chocolate and roasted malts, then follows through with sharp, earthy bitterness and a rich, smooth cocoa mouth feel.
